DOL Regulations Concerning the New Healthcare Marketplace Exchange

The DOL just released the Employer Responsibility Regulations in educating your employees about the upcoming Federal and State Exchanges that are at the heart of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). We have anticipated the arrival of the final notice and have provided a step by step guide to compliance. Please remember, this requirement is for all employers regardless of size and coverage. Even those employers who do not provide health insurance coverage must comply with the written notification guidelines.

In essence, each employer has until October 1, 2013 to send the attached information. It is my recommendation that you send out your notice prior to October 1 with additional information regarding the Individual Mandate.

I can’t stress enough the importance of your compliance and educating your employees about the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Many of you are way ahead of the game, and have spent hours educating employees about dramatic changes in how employees may be enrolling in health insurance in 2014.

If you haven’t provided your employees with some educational materials or provided a group meeting, we encourage you to contact our office for assistance. This Notice to your employees will no doubt create lots of questions.

Do not hesitate to reach out to us with questions about how to proceed.
